These bullet could have killed many innocent people.

I was purposely planted here… but I don’t know who did it.

It gives a hidden message – someone will take a picture and spread it over the internet.

Someone with deep thought will relate these bullets to a war crime or some kind of atrocities.

I tried to produce a beautiful flower to attract photographers. They may not ever realize the message this picture brings about. But I know what my purpose in life is all about.

Things happen for a reason. You are considered very lucky to be able to read this article.

Take Control of Your Resources – How Your Cash Is Spent

This is me in the middle of nowhere.

Somehow I landed on this stone. Very hot at times as well as very dry.

I cannot count on rain to give me the water I need.

With the less amount of water available I cannot enjoy spending it on perspiration and respiration.

I take control what comes in through the hard work of my roots and what goes away with the wind though my leaves.

Now, do you ever wonder why they call it “leave” when some people “left”?

So take control of what is going out if you want to become successful.

Have lots of leaves so it means there are many still left behind. With this leaves I provide comfort and home to some birds or insects.

See that crack in the stone?

Yeah… you can make up your own story on that. Talk about being tough and hard work, right?

Yes this is the cousin of mine – the earlier picture above.

Make up your own story to motivate yourself.

Good stories influences and motivate people, especially yourself.

You need to influence your mind not to be easy on excuses if you want to be successful.

OK… now create it in your mind what story you want to tell to your own self.

Go... tell yourself something.

Balanced Life

Successful people often balanced their life in term of time and resources for between family, personal needs, friend, network, business, work, play, spiritual and etc.

Imbalance on the time spent can often lead a person to a regretful life. It also impacting one health’s.

Health being the greatest asset one can have besides time, requires balance between work and play.

During difficult time, people often say, “Hang in there.”

Yeah... this picture clearly tells that I am hanging in there.

You can see that I don’t have too many leaves as it can put a burden to my root system as well as the soil foundation I am hanging onto.

Too many leaves is very risky during high wind. So I concentrate to put the weight where it should be – my stem and my root system.

I just have enough leaves to do the cooking, that’s it.

It is OK not to be so blossom and beautiful as it can ruin my safety.

Having a balanced life, which include spiritual and faith will surely make your life fills with happiness and that I consider being successful.

Give to Receive

Volkswagon & Redwood Tree

Ever wonder why rich people give so much? The belief is that the more they give the more they will receive.

Whatever the meaning of “giving” is up to the individual to interpret it. Because there are so much meaning that can be related to it.

It was given with intention not just for the sake of giving. The attached string could be explicit or implied.

Do you ever wonder why it is very common in internet marketing there are so many freebies? Was it given freely without any intention of receiving back?

Well, you can see here in this picture with the Volkswagen van is passing or parked underneath me.

I have been successfully grown up to become so big, tall and strong. Somehow there are areas that I cannot control and have to be given away.

In return, I am protected and I enjoy the security of not being felled down. In this regard, I virtually have no competition.

It was however a very painful process having to give away – they cut it away – a part of my asset / resources. But as time passed by it heals and I get used to it.

So… don’t be afraid to give something valuable to receive back something which money can’t buy.

Huge Success Did Not Come Without a Fight and Cooperation At The Same Time

A tall tree like me – the Redwood tree with the Volkswagen van underneath me – I struggle all my life to get to where I am now.

The world is ruthless at the beginning when I was young.

Everyone is for him/herself. I have to fight for water, soil and sunlight with others trees.

If I was slow to grow I would not get enough sunlight. And that would stunted my height.

I might even die.

Sure, there are some that died due to malnutrition but mainly died because of lack of sunlight. They cannot move, but you can. You don’t like where you are now… just move.

Ask yourself… would you be one of those that died? You know the answer and you know what to do, right?

Move...

Somehow I was lucky and get to become very tall and big. I have a very deep root (foundation) to carry the burden and weight of my success – the wood and heavy leaves. It is few hundred tons – very heavy.

Ironically I also cooperate with my neighbors as it strengthen our root (foundation) system so that we all can stand tall. We fight but we also work together – that is the source of our strength.

We release water vapors at the same time so it can become cloud and produce rain. The source of water that we need to carry the nutrition absorbed by our roots.

We provide shelter to many animals. The ground is perfect for picnic. Yes… we make contribution when we are alive, but also after we die.

Our wood is so strong and beautiful people make houses and furniture that last for decades.

In Closing I would like to Say This

Like many other trees and vegetation in this story, we are happy and successful because we are tough, we are hungry, and we work hard to balance our life.

There are times we are just alone but also there are times we thrive when we compete (fight) and cooperate.

Whether we landed on soil, stone, on a pavement, on concrete, on asphalt or wherever place that can provide a place to live – the idea is that we never give up.

It is a lot easier said than done. And... yes… there are many that perished and died along the way.

Not that they did not try, but the condition and situation was just not conducive and too much for them to bear. You and I are a lucky lot.

We are always grateful and we provide benefits to others.

We are happy with what we have but at the same time we continue to strive hard.

Stay hungry stay young. Keep rejuvenating when knocked down.

No excuse and no complaint. Just go and move on with a balanced life.

Big bungalow houses, luxury cars, all of your kids went to Universities.

Is that your definition of success and happiness?

To some, yes… to some may be not.

What’s the point of having a big bungalow but empty in soul?

Everyone is so busy in their own room with their gadgets with their own virtual world.

If you can be in peace with your own self and not having to lose sleep worrying about your money and wealth – yes that is very successful.

Don’t be a slave to money, fame, and glory

There are stories of people who seemed very successful at the beginning, but later in life they regretted for what they did to their own self.

They only realize their mistake when they are about to die, but it is just too late to regret. History sometimes repeats but don’t make yourself a statistic.

With a lot of wealth, it could be seen as being successful, but if you are not in peace with your own self, avoid that.

Life is too short to make it regretful.

Leave your mark and your legacy. Make your death a peaceful one with lots of pride. Because death is real. Every soul will have to experience it, once.
